Whatcha Gonna Do When They Come For You?

Watcha Going To Do When They Come For You?
I am presently facing two huge challenges right now. I know I have a basic choice to make. These are not new issues but they are now staring me right in the face. I would say that they qualify as what The Bible refers to as mountains.
The big question is how am I going to respond to these challenges? Over the last few months I have been very discouraged I know that I have to get out of this state of mind.
The question I have to ask myself is am I going to trust God or not? I have made a decision to trust God and turn my problems over to him. It is time for some serious spiritual warfare.

Praying for a Sick Cat

Prayers For a Sick Cat

Approximately one week ago our cat,Zoey, became ill. She was vomiting and eliminating bloody diarrhoea. We took her to the vets on Monday to get her checked out. The vet did a blood test but it didn’t indicate that anything was wrong with the cat. The vet gave us some medication to give to the cat but Zoey would just vomit her medications back up.

A neighbour friend of ours went with me to take the cat back to the vet to get an x-ray as it was possible that the cat had swallowed a foreign object that was obstructing its bowel. The X-ray did not show any obstruction. My wife, our friend and I were relieved to learn that no obstruction was found. If the cat did have an obstruction the treatment would likely need to be surgery.

Before we took Zoey to the vets Martha and I prayed over the cat for supernatural healing. Those who know me know that I am a faith guy who believes that supernatural healing is still available today. I have done a lot of study on this subject and have learned that I need to practice praying for the sick. I believe that we are also to pray for our pets when they are sick and require healing. Recently, I have started praying with more boldness and expectation. While praying for our cat I put the Lord in remembrance of His promises. I got a word of knowledge to read aloud the scriptures from Malachi that pertain to God opening up the heavens for us and pouring upon us blessings way beyond our expectations. Although these specific scriptures are usually applied to prayers for financial blessings, I asked God to apply the blessing for healing for our cat. I told God that I wanted to see our cat healed as I wanted to see His power manifested and I wanted to give a good testimony of God’s will to heal. The result was that God made good on his promise.Image

Pressing In part one

Desiring More From Life (Part Two)

I have found that ‘pressing in’ or fervently pursuing God is relatively easy when life appears to be going well for me. It is certainly easier to have faith in God’s Promises.

What does “pressing in” look like? This probably depends upon the individual. I will now list some of the techniques and methods that I use:

  1. Listening to something with Biblical content as soon as I get up in the morning. This seems to set the tone for the day as it signals that my intention is to take God and His Word seriously today. I have an extensive library of Christian audio resources. During the month of December and in January 2013 I listened to a lot of cds and podcasts by Todd Bentley and Bill Johnson. I find these messages to be very encouraging.

  2. Soaking” or spending some quiet time in the presence of the Lord. This can be very difficult at first as our human tendency is to want to move around and do something. I often will put one of Todd Bentley’s soaking cds on in the background during this time of meditation. During this time I ask God to speak to me or manifest in some way.

Practising staying in the Lord’s presence takes a lot of discipline. It is somewhat like the discipline required for physical exercise.

  3. I often listen to anointed music. I know that there will be people who disagree with me, but I find listening to the Christian rock band, Stryper to be both refreshing and inspiring. (to be continued).

Hope

Hope

A couple of months ago I made a You Tube video called Hope by Brother Ken David Stewart. I was surprised to find out how many hits that this video received. A lot of its success was likely due to its promotion by my wife, Martha. The other reason for its popularity is that the message struck a chord with many people. On this video I am brutally honest. This video is still available on You Tube. To view this and other You Tube videos that I have done you can search for the “haystacks601” channel on You Tube. You can also type in Ken David Stewart on You Tube.
Due to the popular interest in this video I have decided to put into written blog form. During the months of March and April of this year I fell into a very deep and painful depression. I had recently experienced a major loss in my life and my physical health was also problematic. As a result I had for all intents and purposes, lost hope. I could not envision any kind of success or happiness in my future life. I had also lost the ability to enjoy virtually any aspect of my life. (to be continued)
